The Fisherman family has been making some of Israel's most prized hummus at their Tel-Aviv restaurant, Mifgash Hasteak, for over 50 years. In 2012, Ohad “Joonam” Fisherman moved to New York City and while he loved his new hometown, he missed real hummus. He began making his family’s hummus recipe for friends and colleagues who could not get enough of the smooth, rich classic chickpea spread.
